We are in the process of trialling a new Leica GPS on some of our sites.
Previously we were reliant on the client having to provide us with site levels, but we can now work independently of that. We can then create a 3D map of the site using AutoCAD 3D and onto this we can export the borehole logs from Holebase SI.
This will allow us to show the borehole logs in 3D in relation to the landscape. One of the big benefits of this is that it would fit very well within Client’s BIM models – but there would be caveats in place about joining the dots between the different boreholes! It is also a good way of understanding how the geology differs across the terrain of a site, which could have a bearing on SUDS measures used, amongst other things.
