Interesting story from Kent Online recently: KENT ONLINE DIAL BEFORE YOU DIG

Southern Gas Networks are quite rightly encouraging companies to dial before you dig. However, there can be many utilities underlying a site and it would be much better if you could get this information in one place. This is exactly what Line Search Before You Dig have tried to do, but not all of the utilities/telecoms companies have signed up to it. The service is so quick and easy to use for contractors, that it could reduce the numbers of incidents and their associated costs, disruption, injuries and fatalities associated with service strikes, if all utilities and telecoms companies signed up to it and its use was mandatory for all intrusive investigations and groundworks.
