Regarding drone based geotechnical investigations; EMerald Geomodelling in partnership with SkyTEM, SDU and NGI has successfully secured Eurostar’s funding for a € 1.6 M development project. The funding will help finance the event of a drone-based system and piloting with strategic partners over the subsequent 30 months. EMerald and SkyTem will deal with the challenge of unacceptable amounts of user’s time and money used up in cost overruns in infrastructure projects.
“This is a great example of how technology is increasingly being used to improve and enhance what we are doing with our geotechnical investigations. The industry is on the cusp of a major transformation in terms of what services it can provide, how those services will be delivered and what skills you will need to deliver them over the next five to ten years.” Mike Brown, Geo-Environmental Commercial Director.
